Well only in the last 4 years this has actually been my tradition. It’s so fun though, everything in me wants to enthusiastically encourage you to give it a go too!
It sounds really crazy, you can feel weird in the process, and you hope no one has any idea this is what you’re really doing!!
It’s Friday and the weekend is here. I’m headed to the card shop to find the perfect Valentine card for me – I’m looking for the most beautiful card and the loveliest, kindest message to me. I’ll buy it, read it over again, feel the words in my heart as if I’m sending this to my best friend (which I am) – and then hand write a personal loving message, place a sparkling heart sticker by my signature that says….’I love you,Theresa.’
If you do this too, address your card to yourself, add a postage stamp and send your card on Monday or Tuesday so you’re sure to find it in your mailbox on Thursday, Valentines Day, February14.
There are no words to describe how touching and awesome it feels to open a beautiful card to yourself, from yourself. Keep it close all year round and start your days the rest of this year reading your love note to you.
The last couple years I’ve taken extra time for myself in the shop, thinking about me, and some lovely ‘one little thing’ I’d love to receive. Something I might get for my dear friend to remind her how loved and incredibly amazing she is…only, today (and aiming for every day!), I’m my own best friend.
